When is the best time to do our shoot?

TIME OF DAY - I prefer to shoot sunrise or sunset. The glow is on point and we want dreamy lighting!

MATERNITY | I recommend contacting me as soon as you are ready - we will schedule your session between 32-37 weeks. I find that 33 weeks is the sweet spot for being able to walk around a beach/field for an hour without feeling too uncomfortable!

NEWBORN | I recommend between 7-21 days old. the earlier we do it, often the easier newborns are to capture. While they are still sleeping little koalas.

The only 'wrong time' is never.

If you have missed the 21 day window but still want a session like this please reach out. Documenting these years is so priceless.

Fresh 48 is to be within 48 hours of birth, in hospital.

Can we chose the location?

Yes! in this guide you’ll see I love shooting on location at LIGHTHOUSE beach PMQ., for those down in Laurieton washhouse beach is very versatile!

I know that they are safe & accessible for my maternity clients with parking and bathrooms nearby.

We can have your session on location of your choice, in your home or in my home studio.

*Locations other than lighthouse and in my studio may incur a fee.

If you have a different location in mind let me know and we can suss it out!

What if we are camera shy/my partner is nervous?

Believe me - everyone says the same thing. Once you're in the session we'll try keep it candid, you'll feel like we're just hanging out and i’ll give you some prompts - nothing crazy!

Outfits & on the day

FOR HER | Bring whatever you like.

I have very limited pieces, but I am working on a PREMIUM client wardrobe. I am happy to purchase pieces and start building a client closet OR hire.

this may incur a cleaning fee.

Feel free to send me photos so we can collaborate.

HAIR & MAKEUP | I always recommend keeping it low-key.

There is a time & place for full glam - I think my sessions are more geared towards subtle, fresh faced make up. Think soft, dewy and glowing.

However if full glam is your thing, by all means go for it. I want you to feel like your true self. If booking a make up artist please check their cancellation policy prior to booking, as I do not shoot in wet weather conditions.

FOR HIM | Neutral colours are a vibe, wear your vintage surf tee and if you have your fave hat you must wear please do, I want you to be comfortable and capture you guys exactly the way you are.

Try keep shorts neautral to avoid too much clashing, linen shirts also look great.

Simple and effortless saves you having to run to the shops for something you may never wear again.
